Coffee gold mine project
Report summary
The Coffee project will be a conventional open pit mine utilising heap leach processing at a throughput capacity of 5Mt/a. Life of mine (LOM) is expected to be 10 years with an average strip ratio of 5.7:1. Ore will be sourced from several deposits including Latte and Supremo. A positive Feasibility Study was published in February 2016. Goldcorp completed its C$520 million acquisition of Kaminak Gold Corporation in July 2016. In 2017, Goldcorp allocated US$8 million toward exploration and permitting activities at the project. The exploration and permitting phase is expected to continue through 2020. Based on current estimates, Wood Mackenzie is anticipating construction to begin in 2022 with subsequent production starting in 2024 for a ten year mine life.
