Donimalai iron ore mine
Report summary
Donimalai is a complex comprising of the Donimalai mine and Kumaraswamy project. It is approximately 1,500 kilometres south of New Delhi in the Indian State of Karnataka. The mine is owned and operated by the state-owned mining company NMDC. Production was suspended for two years as the mining leases were auctioned but recommenced in 2021 after NMDC negotiated a reasonable premium. All production from Donimalai is supplied to domestic steel mills.
