Efemçukuru is a high grade underground operation that utilises mechanised cut-and-fill with longhole open stoping in wider zones. Ore undergoes primary grinding at the SAG mill followed by secondary grinding at the ball mill, ore then reports to the conventional flotation circuit to produce a concentrate. The property is owned by Tüprag Metal Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eldorado Gold Corp., and covers 2,262 hectares. Access to the site is via local paved roads from the coast and the city of Izmir to the north. The terrain is hilly and the operation is located around 580-720m above sea level. Power is delivered to the site via a designated transmission line from the Urla substation ~23km away.
