El Coronel gold mine

El Coronel is a conventional open pit mine in the Mexican state of Zacatecas. Ore is treated by heap leaching with gold recovery by adsorption in carbon and electrolysis to produce a gold and silver dore. Construction commenced in 2008 and first production was in 2009. Total pre-production capex was stated at $80 million.
