Report summary
Lithium product prices have plateaued with little movement following the Chinese New Year. Spot prices for spodumene concentrate declined by just 4% compared to January. Battery-grade lithium hydroxide and carbonate prices followed suit, down by 5% and 1%, respectively. There have been very few announcements of immediate production curtailment. In addition to supply coming from China in the coming months, Australia is also commissioning refineries. As a result, the market will have a sharp growth in the supply of lithium chemicals in 2024.
