Report summary
The Great Bear project (formerly the Dixie project) is situated within the Red Lake mining district of Ontario, Canada, and currently comprises approximately 117.5 km² of contiguous mineral claims. Kinross Gold acquired a 100% interest in the project in February 2022, through the acquisition of Great Bear Resources Ltd. In September 2024, Kinross announced the results of a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). The PEA outlines a high‑grade open pit and underground operation with an initial mine life of approximately 12 years, producing over 500koz per year, supported by a conventional 10,000tpd mill.
