Report summary
Handan Iron and Steel is a Hebei Iron and Steel (HBIS) Group subsidiary located in Handan city, Hebei province. The plant produces high-quality flat steel for automotive, home appliance and line pipe sectors. Its high yield strength X100 grade HRC has been used in the Third West-East Gas Pipeline project. Besides flats, Handan also produces bars, rebars and wire rods and these long products account for about 30% of its total product portfolio. Handan imports more than 60% of its iron ore from the seaborne market, with the rest sourced from local mining companies.
