The refinery is located 9km north of the port of Ilo on the southern Peru coast and has adequate road and sea links. The tankhouse was supplied to Minero-Peru on a turn-key basis by Mitsui-Furukawa and the anode plant was constructed by Minero-Peru using Maerz as consultants.
