Report summary
The smelter is a joint copper / nickel smelting plant located in the Gansu province in China and uses two different technologies, an integrated furnace and an electric furnace. Jinchuan has a concentrate capacity of 1.54Mt/a and a production capacity of 221kt/a copper anode. Sulphur collection efficiency achieved at the smelter is ~97%. It is estimated the copper production from the mixed nickel section is in the range of 25 to 50kt/a anode equivalent.
