Asset Report
Jinshan zinc smelter
Report summary
The Jinshan smelter was commissioned in 2010 with a capacity of 60kt/a. Unlike many Chinese smelters, Jinshan uses mainly low grade oxide ore, from its mine at Dachang, and purchased calcine (currently 70% of the feed) as the raw materials to make slab zinc. The flowsheet features two leaching and purification lines, a 40kt/a line used for purchased calcines and a 20kt/a for processing oxide ores. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
