Lobo/ Marte gold mine project
Report summary
The Lobo-Marte project located in Chile is fully owned by Kinross Gold. Kinross completed a Pre-Feasibility Study in 2009 and updated it in 2010. In 2011, an environmental and social impact study was submitted to the Chilean authorities, which was delayed and subsequently withdrawn in November 2014 due to substantial changes in project economics and stringent regulatory requirements. Future project development will require the re-initiation of the permitting process. In November 2021, the results of a Feasibility Study were announced which expects the mine to produce 4.7Moz Au over a 16-year mine life.
