Report summary
Recessionary fears for the US economy have loomed large in metal markets this year and despite generally low stocks of refined metal, prices have slumped. Although our base case assumption is that the US will avoid a full blown recession in 2023, in this insight we investigate whether the history of metal price behaviour during past US recessions can provide any guidance on what the next twelve months may hold for metal prices.
