Asset Report
Minntac iron ore mine
Report summary
Minntac is a surface mine owned and operated by US Steel located in Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range, near the city Mountain Iron. The mine is the largest iron ore operation in the US, producing pellets to US Steel's mills. We expect pellet production at Minntac to keep flat at full speed in 2023. After a 4% increase in cash costs, we expect costs to stabilise in 2023 and keep similar trend going forward.
