Report summary

Northparkes is a copper gold underground mining operations and the first to use the block cave mining method in Australia. The mine produces a copper gold concentrate which is railed to Port Kembla for export. In 2013 Rio Tinto's 80% share in the operation was acquired by China Molybdenum Co. Ltd.
