Paragsha (Cerro de Pasco) zinc mine

Report summary

In 2015, Paragsha was comprised of an underground Pb-Zn mine, the 2.5kt/d San Expedito concentrator and the 2.5kt/d ore cyanidation project to leach silver oxide ores. Since the latter is an independent circuit of the Pb-Zn operation this is not included in the accompanying analysis. Paragsha remained closed until June 2016. In the second half of 2016 and in the light of high zinc prices Volcan decided to treat some marginal stockpiles. However, the metallurgical recovery of this ore was very poor for both zinc and lead because of some oxidised ore was treated. However, to July  2017 the mill tonnage and recovery performance improved significantly because the surface ore/oxidised ore was depleted.
