Port Talbot steel plant
Report summary
Port Talbot is located in South Wales. The plant is part of Tata Steel's Strip Products UK hub and they produce hot rolled, cold rolled and metallic coated strip. Strip Products UK also has a hot rolled and cold rolled mill in Llanwern. Llanwern also produces hot dip galvanised steel. Port Talbot was originally a British Steel plant. British Steel merged with a Dutch company, Koninklijke Hoogovens, in 2001 to create Corus, which was in turn taken-over by Tata Steel in October 2006.
