Report summary
Rapu Rapu is a polymetallic sulphide deposit containing copper, gold, silver and zinc, located on the small island of Rapu Rau in the Philippines. The mine was developed by ASX listed Lafayette Mining in 2005 but was troubled by various environmental problems and typhoon related production stoppages. Lafayette went into receivership in 2007 and the mine was then operated by joint venture partners until 2013 when it ceased production and rehabilitation work commenced.
