San Juan de Nieva zinc smelter

Located on the northern coast of Spain the San Juan de Nieva smelter is one of the largest zinc smelters in the world. It is operated by Asturiana de Zinc (100% Glencore Xstrata owned) and uses the roast-leach-electrowin process. The smelter has a production capacity of 486kt slab zinc per annum.
