Having enjoyed a stellar run since the second half of 2017, in November 2018 steel prices started to fall, compressing steelmakers' margins to uncomfortable levels. Against this ubiquitous change in mood, 2019 is shaping up as a year of reckoning and resetting of expectations for the steel industry. We looked at a few themes that will shape 2019, including China economic rebalancing, trade wars, India capacity growth, and green steel.
