The Yaoure project is owned and operated by Perseus Mining following its merger with Amara Mining in 2016. An open pit operation utilising conventional drill, blast, load and haul mining methods is planned. Mine life is estimated at ten years. A 6.5Mt/a sulphide processing plant is planned with single stage crushing, SAG and ball milling and a carbon in pulp (CIP) circuit. As of Q4, 2016 a definitive feasibility study on the project was underway. This will be completed in H2, 2017 with an investment decision to follow by the end of year. Pre-production construction is expected to last up to 18 months. As a result, the accompanying analysis assumes an earliest possible start-up year of 2020.
