US Butane exports: A study of countries with rising demand
Report summary
Butane rarely gets the spotlight among NGLs, with ethane and propane drawing more attention. The time has never been better for butane to gain some fame. Even though the US has been a net exporter of normal butane since 2011, 2023 has been an incredible year for normal butane exports. Export volumes set a new quarterly record high of 465 kb/d in the first quarter and a new monthly record of 515 kb/d in April 2023. We forecast butane exports to rise at a CAGR of 9.8% through 2025.
