Bolivia Santa Cruz exploration basin
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The Bolivia Santa Cruz basin has a long history of exploration and production activity with the first wildcats spudded in the 1950's. Historical exploration activity focused on the maturing Carboniferous play, where the average discovery size has dropped to around 5 mmboe. In contrast, the largest discovery in the history of the Santa Cruz basin is the 15 tcf San Alberto field, discovered in 1999 in the Devonian Gas play, which is where we expect future exploration to focus. We analyse the remaining yet-to-find potential of the basin and the achievable exploration metrics from future activity. Activity is subdued while gas demand from Brazil is satisfied by current production, but it is forecast to return to higher levels over the long term. All analysis, results and forecast metrics are available to download in pdf and excel format.
