Asset Report
Bulgaria - Black Sea exploration basin
Report summary
The Bulgarian sector of the Black Sea basin is a deepwater, frontier exploration province. It has seen very little exploration activity. The discovery of the Domino field (2012) in neighbouring Romania, generated interest in the basin but only three exploration wells have been drilled in the Bulgaria's deepwater sector. The only field to be discovered to date is the non-commercial Polshkov oil field (54 mmboe). The discovery of two world class gas discoveries – Sakarya and North Sakarya – is expected to attract new interest in Bulgaria.
