Asset Report
China Beibu Gulf exploration basin
Report summary
The Beibu Gulf Basin is a relatively mature hydrocarbon basin in the Western South China Sea. Water depths are typically less than 100 metres and maritime conditions are benign. Historic exploration has focused on the Tertiary Shelf oil play. Drilling activity has decreased to around 10 exploration and appraisal wells in recent years, which we expect to be maintained.
