How advantaged is the Guyana Suriname Basin?
Report summary
The Guyana Suriname Basin is well on its way to becoming one of the world’s top three deepwater oil provinces. Its geologically complex reservoirs are proving very productive. High recovery per well is the key to both resilience and sustainability. In Guyana, ExxonMobil is leading the development of these advantaged resources at exceptional pace. TotalEnergies and partners are not too far behind in Suriname. Creaming curve trajectories look highly encouraging for future exploration. Successful development of prospective resources could see the basin supply over 3 million barrels of oil per day in the mid 2030s.
