Permian production growth has moderated from historic highs but continues to support high pipeline utilization to the US Gulf Coast (USGC) and a long-term rise in waterborne crude exports. A new wave of midstream investment is underway to expand pipeline, storage and export capacity around Corpus Christi and Houston. These projects raise the region's export ceiling as Strait of Hormuz disruptions continue to drive volatility in US pipeline flows and export volumes.
