Commodity Market Report
Pricing support for power markets: Northeast power and renewables November 2020 STO
Report summary
Overall demand has gradually been recovering, with the economy continuing to find ways to open up and more people going back to the office. However, the fall demand numbers do imply headwinds to overall recovery, as average daily demand in October declined 5%. Gas generation dropped in October, due to higher gas prices caused by early weather impacts. Still, despite the higher gas prices, we see more coal plants moving up their retirement dates, including in PJM, SERC and the WECC.
