US solar to expand 44% under an extended ITC
Report summary
On 28 October 2021, the US House of Representatives issued draft legislative text for its budget reconciliation bill. Negotiations on numerous policies and incentives to be included in the final budget reconciliation bill are ongoing, but the text includes proposed extensions and modifications to important tax credits for the solar industry. This forecast serves as our first preliminary view of the impact of an extended ITC as currently proposed. Throughout the report, we compare our projections to the “base case” forecast in the US Solar Market Insight: Q3 2021 report, with some slight updates to utility solar additions given supply chain constraints.
