Wood Mackenzie Energy Transition Outlook 2020: Highlights
Report summary
We are pleased to release highlights from the second annual edition of Wood Mackenzie’s Energy Transition Outlook - an entire energy and natural resources value chain assessment of how the next two decades may play out. It includes a welcome note from our CEO outlining our approach given the huge uncertainty facing the world currently. We are presenting more than one view of the world. Our teams developed a range of energy demand and supply recovery paths resulting from the pandemic, out through the next five to ten years. The result is three pathways for oil, gas and coal demand and three different timelines for when investment decisions need to be considered. Beyond the Covid-19 recovery pathways we present our long-term base case outlook and reference how and in what ways it is different from our Accelerated Energy Transition and 2 Degree scenarios.
