Nynas refining and oil products summary
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Nynas is a specialist manufacturer and supplier into the global niche markets of naphthenic speciality oils and bitumen. In late 2014 Nynas commenced the closure of its Continental European bitumen business due to poor profitability and depressed margins. The bitumen market remains characterised by declining demand and weak margins and as a consequence, improving the profitability of sales in this area presents a continued challenge for Nynas. The acquisition of the Harburg refinery has increased production of specialty oils and reduced dependence on third party suppliers. Nynas also shut its bitumen refinery in Dundee and converted the site into a supply depot.
