DJ Basin Niobrara tight oil unconventional play
Report summary
The Upper Cretaceous Niobrara Shale is found throughout multiple basins in the Rocky Mountains region. The vast majority of development has been concentrated in the rich gas play in the Wattenberg field which is the sole focus of this analysis. The Wattenberg field in Colorado sits atop a geothermal anomaly. It has an extremely high temperature gradient that contributes to the field's significant gas and condensate volumes, versus oil.
