Kalimantan is the Indonesia portion of the island of Borneo, where shale gas is an emerging play holding 194 tcf of GIIP according to a government assessment. We estimate the GIIP in Eastern Kalimantan alone at 136 tcf. The country's declining conventional gas supplies has increased the potential role of unconventional gas in Indonesia's future energy mix.
