Asset Report
Powder River Niobrara tight oil unconventional play
Report summary
Niobrara activity in Wyoming's Powder River Basin has focused on Converse and Campbell counties, though projects are ongoing in Natrona, Johnson, and Niobrara counties to confirm the extent of the play on the perimeters of the basin. The southern extent of the basin hosts the thickest, most organically-rich, and highest-pressured parts of the Niobrara formation. In 2017, the Powder River Niobrara overtook the DJ Bbasin type curve for both oil and gas.
