South Sumatra CBM unconventional play
Report summary
South Sumatra CBM is an emerging play with 183 tcf of GIIP, according to a government study. Gas supply shortages in Sumatra and West Java could provide a strong regional market opportunity for CBM. LNG regasification terminals have been constructed in Java, with further projects planned across the country. If CBM can be developed economically and in material volumes, then it could compete with LNG.
