Total and SOCAR operate the giant deepwater Absheron gas-condensate field, which was discovered in 2011. Absheron is located in water depths of more than 470 metres in the Caspian Sea, about 35 kilometres east of the giant Shah Deniz field.The initial Absheron development has been simplified and fast-tracked from earlier concepts.
