Report summary

The Abu Sennan fields are located in the south east of the Western Desert. Oil was first discovered in the region in 1983.The first discovery, GPZZ, was sub-economic due to insufficient reserves. It was not until 2011 and 2012, when the Al Ahmadi, El Salmiya and Al Jahraa fields were discovered by Kuwait Energy, that the concession was considered commercial.
