The attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas sector at Abqaiq and Khurais in September 2019 resulted in the short-term loss of 5.7 million b/d of oil production. Domestic gas production was also impacted. The Abqaiq facility processes oil from the world's largest oil field at Ghawar, plus other major fields such as Shaybah.
