Asia Pacific upstream M&A watchlist
Report summary
ConocoPhillips has exited Indonesia and increased its interest in APLNG in Australia. POSCO International acquired Senex Energy in Australia expanding its global portfolio into the Australian upstream oil and gas industry. Portfolio diversification and growth through acquisitions are were driving these mergers. Nearly US$8 billion (NPV10, 2022) worth of assets are still up for grabs across the region. A further US$25 billion (NPV10, 2022) could come to market in the near and medium-term. Portfolio rationalisation, deleveraging and decarbonisation havebrought many assets to the market. Here we present a snapshot of assets which are already up for sale or rumoured to be.
