In January 2006 CPC the Taiwanese National Oil Company was awarded an exploration licence for three Chadian blocks: Chari Ouest III (BCO III) and Chari Sud II (BCS II) in the Central African Rift Basin and Lac Chad I (BLT I) in the Chad Basin.In February 2011 CPC made its first oil discovery Benoy on the Chari Ouest III (BCO III) Block.
