Report summary
The Berwyndale and Berwyndale South coal seam gas (CSG) fields are located on a structural high called the Undulla Nose in the Surat Basin. The Undulla Nose is considered to be a world-class unconventional gas play due to the coal properties and structural setting. The fields supply domestic gas contracts within Queensland, and also form a key part of the initial supply to BG's Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) project. This analysis values only the gas required to satisfy the domestic gas commitments from the Berwyndale South supply area. It does not include any gas supplied from Berwyndale South to the QCLNG project at Gladstone. For further information on the QCLNG project, please see our Queensland Curtis LNG analysis.
