Block 17 lies in the central Oriente basin and contains four fields. The most significant field, Hormiguero, came onstream in 1997 under a long-term test. Until 2005, the field remained relatively undeveloped due to both pipeline constraints and delays caused by the changes in operator. With the completion of the Dayuma pipeline in 2006 and the Hormiguero Sur field development, Block 17 annual production peaked at 10,000 b/d in 2008, before entering into a steady decline.There is further ...
