Block 46/07 is in the Malay Basin, 150 kilometres southwest of Ca Mau province in Vietnam. The acreage was originally awarded to Mitra Energy (now Jadestone Energy) and PetroVietnam E&P (PVEP) in 2010. The Nam Du gas field was discovered in mid-2013. The field is in shallow water, 25 kilometres from the Jadestone Energy-operated U Minh discovery and PetroVietnam's Khanh My in Block 46/13.
