Block 65 is located in northwest Oman, adjacent to Occidental's Block 27 and Daleel Petroleum's Block 5. The block was offered in the 2017 licensing round and was awarded to a joint venture (JV) between Occidental Petroleum and Oman Oil Company (now OQ) in December 2018.Since assuming operatorship, Occidental has drilled around 10 exploration wells on the block.
