Report summary
Block Z-1 is located offshore in the Tumbes basin in northwest Peru. Five discoveries were made on the block in the 1970s and 1980s. Although some oil was extracted, the area remained largely undeveloped due to a lack of market. Since assuming operatorship in 2005, BPZ Energy undertook a successful drilling campaign that proved sufficient reserves to restart development.There are undeveloped non-associated gas reserves on the block.
