Bratwurst is a gas/condensate field located in the Ashmore-Cartier sector of the Bonaparte Basin. It was discovered by Shell in December 2019. The field lies around 160 kilometres northeast of the Prelude FLNG and around 11 kilometres from Crux, both of which are operated by Shell. Crux is being developed as backfill for the Prelude field, with first gas expected in 2027. As of now, there is no clear development plan for Bratwurst, but we believe the field will likely be developed as a subsea tie-back to the Crux platform and used to backfill Prelude FLNG.
