Report summary
The Caratinga area comprises the Caratinga deepwater post-salt oil field and the Carimbé discovery. In April 2016, the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) approved the Production Individualisation Commitment (CIP) of both fields. . In 2019, the ANP approved the extension of both Barracuda and Caratinga concession contracts until 2052. Petrobras has plans to revitalize Barracuda and Caratinga fields and in 2023 started a bidding process for the charter of a new FPSO. The tender was cancelled in 2025 and we expect this new vessel's first oil to occur by 2031. The fields are taxed under different ring fences, hence there are separate models for them.
