After years of growth due to a surge in E&P activity in the last decade, liquids production in Colombia stabilised at around one million b/d in 2015. It remains one of the most stable fiscal and political countries in Latin America. However, insecurity has been one of the major risks to supply. Significant steps were made to improve this when a unilateral ceasefire was agreed between FARC and the Colombian government in 2015 and attacks on oil infrastructure have since reduced. Future production upside is focused on three areas: enhanced oil recovery (EOR), unconventional and offshore developments.
