DNO acquires Faroe Petroleum in North Sea expansion
Report summary
On 9 January 2019, London-listed Faroe Petroleum plc recommended to its shareholders that they accept the latest takeover bid from Norwegian based DNO ASA. This follows a process that has been ongoing since November 2018. The deal marks a watershed moment for DNO in its journey to becoming a full cycle Norwegian E&P company. It offers the Norwegian listed entity a growth focused North Sea position in the near-term, with healthy upsides ranging from its large exploration acreage portfolio and pre-FID Iris-Hades discovery (210 mmboe). Faroe Petroleum has had a rich history in the North Sea. It has grown into one of the leading independent E&P companies and will be disappointed not to continue its journey.
