Double SCOOP? Continental sweetens its Mid-Continent portfolio with Springer Shale upside
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
On 18 September 2014, Continental Resources pulled the curtain back on its latest discovery, the Springer Shale in the heart of its Woodford SCOOP play. The new play, known locally as the Goddard Shale, resides in the interbedded sandstones and shales of the Springer Group, and has produced some of the largest oil fields in Oklahoma. Continental suggests the play will have higher recovery factors and shallower declines than “pure” shale plays, although well repeatability could be an issue.
