Total announced on 3 July 2014 that the Edradour development has been sanctioned. The field is the first in the recent wave of projects put on hold to be sanctioned following successful negotiations with contractors to reduce costs. This sets a precedent for other upstream operators being able to reduce development costs for riskier, marginal projects.
